Welcome to the first-ever edition of From The Trenches, my newsletter packed with the deep, dark details from the trenches of my financial freedom journey. My name is Adit Shah, and if you’re receiving this special first edition, it’s because you and I have personally connected and you have been one of the first to support me in my journey. Over the last 5 years, I have built a real estate portfolio worth $20M and raised over $6M in private capital. This newsletter is my journal from the front lines of building a business and finding purpose in life.

The purpose of this newsletter is simple - give you everything that’s working and not working on my wealth generation journey so you can skip the school of hard knocks and get straight to the wealth generation part.
If you’re receiving this first edition, you likely know my story - I got out of the Navy in 2019 with $0, I worked for free as a handyman for a real estate developer and somehow all of this combined with some strategic effort resulted in where I am now. It wasn’t easy to get here, you’ve likely seen me struggle not too long ago and see what may seem like an overnight success. The truth is, it was far from overnight. What you see now is the result of the last 5 years of chopping down dense jungle on this trail that I’ve blazed for you, so you can skip the tree chopping and breeze on this trail to success.
This newsletter is the peak behind the curtain of my brain, business and life, the hope is that something you read here carries you one step closer to your financial freedom.

The only Real shortcut to success:
I asked ChatGPT to make an image that represented what the journey looks like on your own vs what the journey looks like with someone who’s already reached mastery, here is the result:
Figuring it out on your own can be daunting, like the guy on the left - climbing up the treacherous mountain on his own, up an unknown path without a guide. Is it possible for him to reach the top? Absolutely - But he’s definitely going to have a ton of bumps and bruises.
On the right, we see a guy with a much easier path, led by a master who knows the path well and has thrown a rope down for him. And that lady at the bottom - not sure why Chat GPT threw her in there but maybe it represents that you should always throw the rope down for others?
This is the point - you can absolutely do it on your own, but if you align yourself with someone who is already successful at which you wish to succeed, the journey is going to be more of a cakewalk than a walk through the valley of the shadow of death. The contingency is you must figure out a way to bring value to the person who will guide you. In my case, I worked for free, if you don’t have time for all that, you can offer a skill or invest alongside that individual. I’ll break this down for you over the next few weeks and talk about exactly how to do it.
There are no shortcuts to success, but the only thing close to it is to align yourself with the right people.
